Specialty & Piano Moving in San Francisco

Some pieces need more than muscle. Bay Haul moves pianos, safes, antiques, and fine art across San Francisco with movers trained for exactly that, the right equipment, and the patience a narrow Victorian staircase demands.

What makes it different

Heavy and delicate are two different problems, and we plan for both. Uprights and grands, 700-pound safes, marble tops, and framed art each get the right board, straps, and padding, plus a built-to-fit crate when the piece earns it.

What we specialize in

  • Upright and grand pianos
  • Gun safes and heavy equipment
  • Antiques and marble-top furniture
  • Fine art, mirrors, and sculpture

How we protect it

  • Piano boards, dollies, and straps
  • Custom crating when it is needed
  • Extra padding and corner guards
  • Routes planned for stairs and tight turns
Tell us early: Flag pianos, safes, or heirlooms when you book so we bring the right crew and gear. Often paired with a local move or packing.

Owen and the crew he sent out, Marco and the other guys, were so understanding and patient. I am a Veteran, so I chose Bay Haul in support of this. Not to mention the price was reasonable! The guys are fun and didn't complain about anything. I definitely will be using them again! Thanks! A+

Questions, Answered

Can you move a piano or a safe?

Yes, with movers trained for exactly that. Uprights, grands, gun safes, antiques, and art get the right board, straps, and padding, plus a custom crate when a piece calls for one.

What’s a move going to run me?

It rides on how much you have and how the access looks, but local jobs start at $149/hr for two movers and a truck, and here is the part people like: stairs and long carries are baked into the flat number, so no per-flight add-ons. You get an itemized written price before we start. Out-of-town moves go by weight and miles.

Do you charge extra for stairs or a long walk to the truck?

No. This is San Francisco, walk-ups and half-block carries are just Tuesday, so we build them into your flat number up front. You will not get a per-flight or long-carry surcharge sprung on you at the end.

What if something gets dinged?

Wrap and pads make it rare, but if it happens we document it right there and open the claim the same day. Before the move we explain basic versus full-value coverage so you already know how a claim runs.

Can I reschedule?

Sure. Give us 48 hours and the deposit is refunded in full. Every cancellation term is spelled out in your booking, so there is nothing to guess at.

Are you actually licensed?

Yes. Bay Haul Moving holds California household-goods carrier authority and full insurance, and every job runs with our own crew start to finish, no broker in the middle. Ask us for the authority and coverage details and we will lay out valuation before you book.
